At Hotel baXar, music accompanies us as we wake up, during breakfast, by the sea, as the sun sets, and when night falls.

Since the inception of baXar, we have nurtured our musical atmosphere with the same intention we apply to rest, nourishment, movement, and our connection with ourselves, others, and nature.

We call this sonic universe baXarmusiK.

The ear also deserves a rest from noise.

Our musical selection accompanies the natural rhythms of baXar, from dawn until it is time to rest.

Over the course of 18 years, baXar has seen a succession of DJs, friends, artists, and gatherings that have yielded countless hours of music and unforgettable moments facing the Pacific. There is a curatorial process behind what we hear; every song arrives for a reason.

That’s why we started sharing our music selections—so that baXar can keep you company while you work, cook, drive, rest, travel, or simply need to shift the energy of the moment.

Within baXarmusiK, there is a story that is particularly close to our hearts. Shine Sessions was born to keep DJ Shine’s musical and personal legacy alive.

Shine is no longer physically with us. But his music never stopped playing.

DJ Shine was baXar’s first music curator. After 18 years, we realized that what began intuitively on that very first day was destined to become a movement.

Today, under the direction of Cool—one of his best friends and a longtime musical collaborator—Shine Sessions brings that community together around the turntables to continue sharing his influence.

For the past nine years, JABA, a DJ, musician, and producer, has overseen the musical curation for baXarmusiK.

World music, traditional and acoustic sounds, soul, funk, jazz, reggae, ambient, electronica, house, deep house, Afro, Latin, and many other styles can be found here.
