On December 27, 2024, Shine embarked on a new journey.
More than a DJ
Israel was a pioneer of house music in Mexico, a passionate vinyl collector, music producer, athlete, national skateboarding champion, national disc golf champion and, above all, a human being who left a deep mark on those of us who were fortunate enough to share life with him.
His smile, his energy, and his love for music connected people in a very special way. Five days after his transition, friends, family, and loved ones gathered at baXar to celebrate his life and give thanks for everything he left us.
That meeting marked the beginning of something much bigger; thus, this tribute to Shine was born. A series of gatherings where his music resonates once again through the hands, hearts, and musical selections of those who shared the DJ booth, the stages, the travels, the laughter, and life with him.

Just five days after his passing, we celebrated his life with some of his closest DJ friends. Cool, Napo, Julio, Gabriello, Erick, and Donny shared music, stories, and memories to honor someone who was a brother to us all. This tribute marked the beginning of an initiative to keep his music and legacy alive.

Seven months later, we held the first Shine Session. For the first time, we listened to his personal vinyl collection playing by the sea in Pie de la Cuesta. The experience was deeply moving. His mother, his brother Erik, and his son Matías were all present, and alongside the turntables, Shine's ashes accompanied each mix and each song.
The special guest was Gog, a close friend of Shine's and a longtime musical collaborator. During this session, we recorded interviews with friends, family, and DJs to share the story behind the music and preserve his memory for future generations.

Nine months later, we returned to baXar to continue celebrating the music that Shine loved so much.
This time, we welcomed Jonathon Soul, a great friend of his, who traveled from Playa del Carmen to share a special set inspired by friendship and respect. Once again, Shine's vinyl records resonated between the sea at Pie de la Cuesta and the Coyuca Lagoon.
A collection that lives on
Shine's vinyl collection is much more than just a set of records. It's the musical history of over three decades of exploration, discovery, and love for music.
Each Shine DJ Session is an opportunity for that collection to come alive again and continue inspiring new generations.
